Cancellation/Late Policy:
  

This policy is for active clients (meaning clients that are regularly scheduled and committed to a certain number of days). If you need to cancel a day of services we've agreed to and scheduled, please let us know VIA EMAIL no later than the FRIDAY before the week of cancellation by 5pm. If a cancellation is made the week of services, you will be charged for that day. Of course, we  know things happen and unforeseen circumstances come up. We will always use best judgement and fair practice when a cancellation occurs.

                                                        How to Cancel Your Booked Service:

If you need to cancel your appointment, please email info@a1k9s.com or call 207-808-8001 between the hours of 8am-5pm eastern standard time. If necessary, you may leave a detailed voicemail message. We will return your call as soon as possible. If you are trying to contact after hours or on weekends, please call and email and we will do our best to reasonably accommodate you.                                   

                                                                     Sickness & Illness Policy:

At A1K9 Academy we take sickness & illness prevention extremely seriously. As dog parents, trainers, lovers etc... it is important to know common symptoms of a sick dog, such as fever, appetite loss, diarrhea and vomiting, as well as the causes of such signs and symptoms. For the safety of not only your dog(s) but all dogs that attend A1K9 Academy, please contact info@a1k9s.com or 207-808-8001 if your dog is experiencing or showing any of the following signs before bringing your dog to ANY A1K9 Academy service:

1. Persistent Vomiting

2. Persistent Diarrhea

3. Persistent Eye Goop

4. Fever

5. Sudden Change in Urination Habits

6. Unfamiliar bleeding

7. Dramatic Appetite Change

8. Rapid Weight Loss

9. Pain

10. Difficulty Breathing

11.  Lameness

12.  Confusion, Staggering, or Collapse

13. Lethargy

Again… please contact info@a1k9s.com or 207-808-8001 if your dog(s) is experiencing any of the above symptoms before bringing your dog(s) to ANY A1K9 related service.

                                                                                   Injury Policy:

At any given moment, a dog can become injured, especially in a dog pack environment. We take every injury very seriously, even the smallest of scratches. We require even the smallest injuries on any dog to be reported to A1K9 Academy before dropping off for any service for documentation as well as prevention from any further injury. Understanding dogs will be dogs and accidental scratches on hikes, play bites etc. do happen, you can be reassured that you will be informed immediately if your dog receives an injury during any service at A1K9 ACADEMY. As a safety precaution and for the dog’s best interest, if at any time a dog needs immediate medical attention, A1K9 Academy will contact the owner(s) immediately and inform them of the vet their dog is going to if it is not their own vet nearby the A1K9 Academy facility and we will deliver the dog to the vet at the owner’s expense.  

                                                                               Vaccination Policy:

A1K9 Academy meets all requirements for boarding & daycare facilities, and one of the ways we do this is by requiring all k9s staying with us to have up-to-date vaccination records on file. The required vaccinations for dogs include Rabies, Distemper/Lepto/Parvo, and Bordetella.

WE CANNOT ACCEPT YOUR PET FOR BOARDING, DAYCARE OR TRAINING IF WE DO NOT HAVE UP-TO-DATE VACCINATION RECORDS! VACCINATION RECORDS MUST BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO YOUR DOG’S STAY WITH US!

Even if your pet has had the vaccinations, if we do not have the records, we cannot accept your pet into our facility. To ensure a hassle-free check-in, it helps to make sure we have the vaccination records well before the date of your check-in. Vaccinations should be given at least 5-7 days prior to visiting A1K9 Academy for boarding, daycare or training. If you get a Bordetella intranasal vaccination, we cannot allow your dog into our facility for at least 24 hours. Proof of your pet’s vaccination will be kept on file. We prefer vaccination records be delivered in advance of your arrival to help simplify and speed up your check-in. Please email your pet’s vaccination records to: info@a1k9s.com with your dog’s name and “Vaccination Records” in the subject line.

• DHLPP: Initial      puppy shots required, Booster thereafter every three years.
• Rabies: At 16      weeks of age, thereafter, as required by law.
• Bordetella:      Yearly or 24 hours prior to boarding. (Follow your vets’ recommendation as      per the vaccine used.)
• Parainfluenza:      Usually given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age as part of the DA2PP schedule.

While vaccinations are extremely helpful in preventing the spread of infectious disease, they do not provide 100 percent protection. Therefore, at A1K9 Academy we do our absolute best to ensure that our facility is as sanitary as possible. We follow industry standard cleaning procedures & We also train our staff to be on the lookout for any signs of illness in any of the pets in our care.

This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for A1K9 Academy. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you of the following:

1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.

3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
