All board & trains INCLUDING our 8–16-week-old PUPPY board & train programs are now available. Our board and train programs can be 1,2, 3,4+ weeks long, depending on the age of the dog and the training request. We offer all kinds of board and train services ranging from basic & advanced off leash obedience to even behavioral modification & more!

A1K9 Overnight Boarding:

$80 per night.

Boarding space is limited & books up fast! Contact us NOW with any boarding request you may have. It is always safe to book and secure spots in advance so any future travel or boarding needs you may have, the sooner you schedule and book with us, the sooner you can ease your nerves about your dog's care while you are away!

 We provide a much more personalized and engaging boarding service than anyone around! Your dog is taken in as if it was our own. Kennel time is very limited unless to rest and we always have a teammate on the property to tend to all boarding clients. We have a variety of additional services that can be added onto your dog's stay as well, such as, training, treadmill conditioning, solo walks/ hikes, tug, fetch, lick mats, TONS of yard play, lick mats/ mental stimulation options and much more!

Our daycare w/ training is the best of both worlds. This is a program for owners looking to be more involved with training week after week as your dog makes progress with our trainers here. Our daycare with training stands out due to our unique approach. Our trainers ensure success by not only training dogs, but by also prioritizing the training of owners as well! Your dog will attend 2-3 days a week for a minimum of 2 months. Each week you will be provided with detailed reports consisting of training progress as well as brief homework to do at home on the days your dog is not at A1K9 Academy. We schedule mandatory private sessions throughout the agreed training timeframe where owners meet with the trainers to practice and prepare for the obedience test at the end. Owners are required to handle and pass the A1K9 obedience test in order to move onto anything further. We start at basic obedience with a strong goal to achieve off leash obedience with YOU the OWNERS handling your dog in full confidence! We have created this daycare with training program that involves the owners throughout the training process & the results have been fantastic. You will feel confident and proud going through this program IF you really want to be involved; we provided everlasting knowledge and accountability to owners so that they leave with the confidence and understanding to continue training their dogs for years to come! This is just one of the many ways we ensure YOU achieve the goals YOU want with your dog!

We offer personalized one-on-one training that meets your dog's needs and fits your schedule. We specialize in behavioral modification, basic to advanced off leash obedience, CGC at more!  We will develop a customized training plan for your dog with one-on-one training. Costs of services are based on the type of training requested.

Basic on leash Obedience:

$105 + daycare per session – package pricing available.

Daycare is offered at a discounted rate to those who would like their dog to attend daycare the remainder of the day after their training is complete. Otherwise, day training dogs will have scheduled pickup times to review training and go home.

Our basic obedience program ranges from weeks 6-8 weeks of training depending on the dog's current state/ obedience level as well as how many days your dog is coming in for training each week. The basic obedience program teaches every dog the fundamentals of obedience with a customized, fun and engaging training process fit to each dog's personality and temperament. Each dog will be trained and tested *with the owners handling*. At the at the end of our basic obedience program, owners will be tested indoors on the following below:

1. Heeling on leash - Basic level - minimal distractions.
2. Greetings on leash.
3. Sit means Sit.
4. Down means Down.
5. "Place" command.
6. Door Manners - No do darters!
7. Indoor Recall on a 30-foot leash.
8. Leave it (if requested)
9. Drop/ Out (if needed or requested).
10. CGC Test (if requested).

Intermediate Obedience & CGC:

$115 + daycare per session – package pricing available.

Daycare is offered at a discounted rate to those who would like their dog to attend daycare the remainder of the day after their training is complete. Otherwise, day training dogs will have scheduled pickup times to review training and go home with owners.

Every dog & owner must pass the A1K9 basic obedience program or evaluation to be qualified for intermediate obedience. Our intermediate obedience program ranges from 6-8  weeks depending on the dogs obedience level and how many days the dog is receiving training each week understanding schedules due vary with every client. During intermediate obedience we start to challenge your dogs obedience by not only adding more distractions & extending duration of time but, also by generalizing your dogs obedience off the property in real, public scenarios and in small pack settings. By implementing distractions, longer distances and longer durations of time your dogs basic obedience level will be tested and improved dramatically! Intermediate obedience is truly when obedience starts to stick with dogs and the training begins to all fall into place. Generalizing your dogs obedience in areas and places you go, sets them up for success when seeking to gain full control of your dog off leash. 

Along with intermediate obedience training and testing, every dog can be trained and tested on CGC (canine good citizen). To better understand what our intermediate obedience program and goals please read below:

1. Loose leash Heel through crowds/ distractions.
2. Attention Heel foundation.
3. 3-minute sit at 30 feet away with distractions during the duration - command will be generalized in public & tested in pack scenarios.
4. 5-minute down at 30 feet away with distractions during the duration. Your dog will also learn an "in stride down" & an "emergency down". All tested in public or in a pack scenario.
5. 10-minute place sent from 30 feet away - command will be generalized in public & tested in pack scenarios.
6. Door Manners challenged with more real-life distractions & in public scenarios.
7. Outdoor recall on a 30-foot-long leash with increased distractions & generalized off property in a variety of areas & environments.
8. Leave it - challenged & improved duration of time "leaving" said thing alone.
9. "Check in" - Your dog will learn to walk ahead (on trails or on a long line) and at a certain distance your dog will learn to stop, look back at you, and "check in". 
10. UP & OFF - your dog will learn to jump up onto something as well as a verbal "off" command.
11. "YES" & "No" markers - understood and utilized verbally.
12. Drop/ Out maintained.
13. Greeting - on leash with unfamiliar approaches & with real life strangers in public scenarios.
14. Grooming from a stranger (face, paw touching/ grooming) --> great help for vets, grooming visits & prep for the CGC test!
15. Leash handoff with another handler & dog will maintain a loose leash heel/ show no signs of stress having another handler take the lead.
16. Tricks! Spin, touch, around, speak etc.
17. Special request from owners - within reason.

Advanced Off Leash Obedience & Behavioral modification:

$115 + daycare per session – package pricing available.

Daycare is offered at a discounted rate to those who would like their dog to attend daycare the remainder of the day after their training is complete. Otherwise, day training dogs will have scheduled pickup times to review training and go home.

A dog & owner(s) must pass the A1K9 intermediate training test or evaluation to be qualified for advanced off leash obedience training. Our advanced off leash obedience program ranges from 8-10 weeks depending on the dog's temperament, obedience level and number of training sessions scheduled each week. Advanced obedience requires a very strict level of consistency and expectation. By this point, a dog is considered consistently obedient on leash in a variety of public areas and situations but to advance to the next level of training we begin implementing training with the dog fully off leash.  Each dog & owner will be trained and tested on the following below on a tab leash:

1. Heeling outside/ with distractions off leash- tested at A1K9 Academy & a public setting.
2. Off Leash Greetings - Heeling & sit to greet another handler/ dog off leash under full control.
3. 1-minute group sit - tested at A1K9 w/ dogs here & a public setting!
4. 3-minute group down - trained off property & tested both at A1K9 Academy w/ trained dogs here & a public setting.
5. 5-minute group place - Tested at A1K9 w/ trained dogs here & a public setting
6. Door manners - fully off leash - tested in public & challenged at A1K9 Academy.
7. IN HOME GREETINGS & MANNERS - dog is tested on its ability to be off leash as a guest comes into a home. Dog must greet off leash by sitting as guest enters & your dog must prove its ability to be sent to place off leash & stay on place as guest enters & then released to greet properly. No begging, down & place all practiced & challenged off leash in a home setting - All tested at A1K9 Academy OR clients' home.
8. Check in - proven and tested fully off leash.
9. UP & OFF - Command & Challenged at a distance in public settings.
10. YES & NO - maintained - off leash - reward history and accountability maintained in a neutral manner by both trainers & owners.
11. Drop - challenged off leash at a distance, off leash and in public.
12. Outdoor recall - Tested in *numerous* public settings with Distractions!
13. Home Manners: No begging, sit, down, place, leave it, space etc.. all completed off leash.
14. Leave it - challenged & proven in a public scenario off leash OR with a pre-established item or "thing" your dog struggled to "leave" prior to off leash training.
15. Agility, tricks, additional owner request.

The owner, Taylor  is an AKC CGC Certified Evaluators that is proud to offer STAR Puppy & CGC training & testing! 

The CGC test consist of the following below:

1. Accepting a friendly stranger.

2. Sitting politely for petting.

3.Grooming.

4. Loose Leash Heel.

5. Heel through a crowd.

6. Sit, Down, & Stay verbally obeyed.

7. Coming when called.

8. Reaction to another dog.

9. Reaction to distraction.

10. Supervised separation.
