A1K9 DOGGIE DAY SCHOOL PICK UP & DROP OFF POLICY:
If your dog is attending the A1K9 Doggie Day school, please be aware of the following information below:
1. Drop-off time is from 7:30am-8:30am *unless an earlier or later time has been agreed upon in writing with the A1K9 Team *
2.) Any drop off that MUST be before 7:30am will receive an early drop off fee of $15. If you do not contact us in advance to drop off early, there may not be any staff available to let your dog inside. Please contact A1K9 Academy the Friday before the week your dog is scheduled if you need to drop off early!
3.) Pick-up times are from 4-6pm unless earlier or later pick up times have been agreed upon in writing with the A1K9 Team. You must inform and agree to your pickup time with A1K9 Academy, so we are prepared & ready for your dog to be picked up. We do this to avoid kennel time as much as possible.
a.) ANY pickup time after 6pm will be subject to a $15 late fee per 15 minutes they are late. To avoid this fee, becoming large, if you're unable to pick your dog up in a reasonable time, you're welcome to request a night of boarding. If you believe you are going to have issues picking up on time, we highly recommend having a back up person for pick-ups to avoid this fee if possible.
4.) Unannounced pick-ups or showing up unannounced is NOT allowed at ANY time. If you are planning to pick up early or your day was shorter than planned, you MUST contact A1K9 Academy before arriving to pick up your dog for the reasons below:
a.) It is our belief to keep the human to dog ratio as small as possible during our open doggie day school hours to ensure every dog is receiving the attention they need. With this philosophy, we are not prepared to handle unannounced arrivals or pickups at this time.
b.) It is a HUGE distraction. We have a very structured schedule everyday and every minute counts to make sure we remain as productive as possible with each client’s dog(s). Showing up unannounced can dramatically affect the flow of our daily schedule which ends up leading to the dogs not having as much fun or not getting as much accomplished as we initially planned for the day.
5.) We will do everything in our power to accommodate your schedule or any special request you may have, all we ask is for you to please respect our schedule as well.
6. ) Short notice cancellations will be billed in full for any days scheduled. We require notification by 5pm the Friday before the week your dog is scheduled.
A1K9 Academy BOARDING POLICY
CHECK IN & OUT POLICY:
WEEK DAY Check in time for any boarding is 4pm. You're welcome to pay for a daycare fee if you'd like or need to drop off before 4pm. Check Out time is 9:00 a.m. for all pets on the day of scheduled departure for boarding. Pets checking out after 9:00 a.m. will incur additional charges equal to either one night’s boarding or a daycare fee of $45 if the dog is picked up before 4pm the day of their departure. We are happy to release pets to authorized people other than the owners if the owner cannot meet the scheduled 9:00 a.m. Check Out Time. Full Payment is due at time of Check-Out if it has not been paid for. A1K9 Academy will NOT release a dog if full payment has not been received! Any dog not picked up before closing will incur same nightly room charge for each unscheduled night’s stay.
WEEKEND BOARDING - PICK UP & DROP OFF - We offer two 1hr timeframes for weekend boarding pick up. These times are 10am-11am & 2pm-3pm! If you're unable to pickup during these two timeframes, we will release your dog to an authorized person otherwise owners will be subject to another full night of boarding. Again, we are happy to release pets to authorized people other than the owners if the owner(s) cannot meet the schedule pickup times.
We require half payment upon scheduling any boarding or board and train service. If a scheduled service needs to be cancelled, A1K9 Academy requires a 48hr notice prior to the date of the scheduled service to receive a full refund of the partial payment. If the cancellation request is not made 48hrs before the date of the scheduled service, a refund will not be made.
COLLARS & PERSONAL ITEMS:
We do not keep leashes or collars but you may bring your dogs items in a bag for us to store if you'd like. We are not responsible for items left at Check in or Check Out. A1K9 Academy provides all pets with fleece OR elevated bed and a toy. We cannot accept any stuffed toys, stuffed bedding, tennis balls, rope toys, or flat Nyla Bones. A flat bed or blanket is acceptable. You may leave one durable chew toy. Please label all belongings with your pet’s first and last name. A1K9 Academy cannot guarantee that personal items will be returned, so please do not bring items that are not replaceable.
To reduce digestive upset we encourage owners to bring their dog’s normal food. Please bring only enough pre-measured food to cover your dog’s entire stay. Please label the food container with your dog’s name and feeding amount. Please do not bring bowls, scoops or cups but if you'd like to, please put all the items in a bag for us to store. If you prefer, or if you forget your dog’s food, A1K9 Academy will provide a high-quality, age-specific food for your dog at a small fee. A1K9 Academy feeds twice a day. A $4.00 surcharge will be added for any dog who requires more than two feedings per day.
The A1K9 Academy staff is happy to administer any veterinarian-prescribed medications your dog requires, except for injections. Please make sure to tell our staff when making a reservation that your dog will need medication. As required by the USDA, medications must be brought in their original container from the vet or pharmacy and be clearly labeled with your dog’s name, veterinarian contact info, and dosage. There is no charge for administering medication except for medicated baths. Nonessential vitamins or supplements will incur a $4.00 surcharge unless these supplements are included in individual baggies along with the dog’s food. A1K9 Academy cannot guarantee that the dog will ingest them, however. A1K9 Academy reserves the right to refuse any pet that is not up to date on vaccinations or shows signs of illness or injury. Any pet that shows evidence of fleas or ticks will be given a medicated bath at the owner’s expense.
SPAYED AND NEUTERED DOG POLICY:
Unlike other kennels we do not require your pet to be spayed or neutered to board with us. However, we CANNOT have dogs in heat in our facility at any time. Dogs in heat are a disruption to the entire kennel, so please understand if your pet comes into heat while staying with us you will be asked to pick them up immediately. In the event you cannot pick up immediately, your pet will be isolated off premise and incur a boarding charge of $100.00 per night.
VETERINARY CARE POLICY:
If any pet needs emergency medical attention, A1K9 Academy reserves the right to transport the animal to a veterinarian of our choice and/or administer medicine and/or give other advisable attention within A1K9 Academy reasonable and sole discretion and judgment at the owner’s expense.
RESERVATION & CHECK-IN POLICY:
Please call any time during business hours to make a reservation. You may bring your dog in any time the day you are scheduled to Check-In. To guarantee your reservation, we require a one night’s deposit to hold the reservation. Anything over a week stay will require a partial down payment of the full charge. Please see our Cancellation Policy as well. Reservations during Holiday Periods require a $75 nonrefundable deposit. A1K9 Academy front desk is closed to the public and on the following Holidays and will not Check-In or Check-Out Pets on these days:
If a dog is scheduled to be picked up & payment has not been received or declined for the services provided by A1K9 ACADEMY, A1K9 Academy has the right to keep the dog until payment is received. Additional service and late fees will be added depending on the duration of extended stay. "NO PAY, DOG STAYS!"
